OREANDA-NEWS.  On 31 January 2008 the Open Society "Aeroflot" announced its interests in purchase of the control share holding of the Serbian airline JAT. It was declared at the press conference of the deputy general director on financial planning of Aeroflot Michael Poluboyarinov.

The open tender may take place in the end of March - beginning of April, 2008. Now conditions of the tender are considered by the Serbian party. More specific proposal on purchase of the Serbian carrier Aeroflot is measured to make after summarizing work of the company for 2007, declared M.Poluboyarinov.

He informed, Aeroflot and the management of Serbia lead a number of meetings where the question on possible purchase of JAT was discussed. Thus Aeroflot is measured to participate only in the open competition on privatization of the company.

Aeroflot is measured to use JAT for flights to the countries of Europe.
 
Aeroflot is the largest Russian air carrier, it get 39 international and 11 home markets of aviatransportations in the Russian Federation. The control share holding belongs to the state, about 30% of shares have the deputy of the State Duma Alexander Lebedev, nearby 15% - management of the company owns.

The park of Aeroflot for February, 1st, 2007 makes 88 planes, including: Tu-134 - 14, Тu-154 - 28, Il-96 - 6, А319 - 8, А320 - 10, А321 - 7, B767 - 11, DS-10 - 4.

The consolidated net profit of Aeroflot in January-September, 2006 grew in comparison with the similar period of 2005 up 46.2% to $186.3mln, incomes - up 15.7% to $2.112mlrd

Aeroflot borrows 36 place in the "Leading enterprises of Russia" rating on the results of 2006, presented by the rating agency AK&M in September, 2007.
