OREANDA-NEWS. On January 29, 2007 the Ministry of Informational Development informed, the agency has prepared the project of government order on licensing of mobile communication of the third generation Wi Max.

It is planned that implementation of Wi Max technologies in Moldova will serve a significant ipetus in the way of accessibility of internet services, will decrease digital gap between rural and urban area.

There will be a significan decrease in operation costs of information infrastructure of bodies of central public administration and their subordinates. It is planned that introduction of these technologies will result in Moldova budget aquisitions of $16 mln in 2008 just from issuing licenses for these services providing.

Introduction of Wi Max technology in Moldova will be the basis for implementation in Moldova of an emergency service with the use of unique European number "112" (emergency telephone service). Mobile terminals with Wi Max technology with 2,5 - 2,7 Hz frequency (video-data transfer) may be used in parallel with TETRA terminals, implemented in many countries.
