OREANDA-NEWS. Beginning with 24th of January of 2008 the visitors of II International Special Exhibition “POSTCARDEXPO–2008” can buy great variety of cards and stamps and cancel them with one of the impresses they wish, reported the press-centre of Russian Post.

The opportunity is granted by Moscow branch office of FSUE Russian Post for the first time. The exposition is presented at the exhibition at the Central House of Artists in Krimskiy Val. The stand demonstrates two post offices: modern one granting the whole range of postal services and the second one XIX century-styled. Here guests and collectors can see 6 special impresses “Moscow is the capital of Russia”, use them and send cards to relatives and friends.

The branch office has issued special post card to the opening of the exhibition. Director of the office S. Zemlyanov took part in the cancelling ceremony after the opening ceremony. “Russian Post couldn’t help paying attention to “POSTCARDEXPO–2008” as the history of postal service development coincides with deltiology development,” noted S. Zemlyanov at the opening ceremony.

Within the framework of the exhibition post presents new project “Culture of congratulations”. Now everyone can order congratulation to any holiday for the relatives and friends. People just have to choose one of the texts in the catalogue and pay the service. Children can compete in the contest on drawing picture at postcard the branch office arranged for them. Post will give them special prizes. The best works can be issued for the cards in whole Russia.

The arrangers hope, the exhibition attracts domestic and foreign producers of modern cards, professionals in philately and deltiology markets, art critics, art historians and other visitors. The project is particular due to its complex approach to the card as the source of studying history and culture, items of art, means of communication and business articles.
