OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2007. The best sportsmen of automobile plant - participants of the 48th sports day as well as professionals, prize-winners of regional and All-Ukrainian contests met in hall of Palace of culture, reported the press-centre of ZAZ.

Representatives of Administration and United Trade union committee of ZAZ, honorary guests of the company have welcome the most venturesome, energetic, dexterous sportsmen, representing own shops and subdivisions, who made own company famous at Ukrainian and international athletic arenas

People's deputy, Mr. Valery Krainiy (faction of Julia Timoshenko's Bloc) has congratulated plant sportsmen. Sportsmen were also welcome by Acting Deputy Chairman of Board on Administrative matters & capital construction, Mr. Vadim Vasilenko (by the way, also participant of sports day) and Chairman of United Trade union committee, Mr. Nikolay Palienko, representatives of regional trade union council.

Diplomas, cups, medals and valuable presents found, as always, conquering heroes of 48th plant's sports day, contests between companies, and participants of professional sports tournament.

Thus, team of Welding Shop (Chief of Welding Shop - Mr. Victor Chesnokov, Chairmen of Shops' Trade union committee - Mr. Alexander Puchkin, PT instructor - Mr. Anatoliy Tishchenko) became winner of plant's sports day of 2007. Silver fell to headquarter's team share (active organizators and participants - master of sports in chess, Director of Labor & Environment protection Department, Mr. Stanislaw Mezhebitskiy, Chief of Finance Division, Mr. Oleg Makarenko, Deputy Chief Lawyer, Maksim Chernenko). Third place - team of Assembly Shop (Chief of Shop - Sergey Khudoley, Chairman of Shop's Trade union committee, Mr. Petr Overko, PT instructor - Ivan Khromey).

In 2007 sportsmen of ZAZ became prize-winners of the 16th All-Ukrainian sports day of sports clubs and groups of physical training of industrial companies and organizations. Football-players of ZAZ won bronze at the 7th Interindustrial Trade union sports day. Team coach - Chief of Autocade of the SSS "Automobile transport", Mr. Anatoliy Prudkiy.

Honorary diplomas and memorable presents were granted to taekwondo champion of Ukraine, winner of All-Ukrainian sports day and the Cup of Ukraine in taekwondo, Ms. Olga Cherkun; national champion among youth in Greco-Roman style, participant of national championship, European championship and championship of the world, Mr. Maksim Borisenko; medalist of the Cup of Ukraine, master of sports in power-lifting, Mr. Igor Makovetskiy; silver medalist of the Cup of Ukraine, master of sports in power-lifting, Mr. Denis Paleshko, medalist of the Cup of Ukraine in track and field, Ms. Rita Pustovaya and finalist of the Championship, Mr. Denis Levchenko. They appreciate coach team of Sports club of ZAZ: Mr. Lavrentiy Maylomyan, Mr. Yury Babak, Mr. Vasiliy Bodnar, and Mikhail Gablin - Chairman of Sports club.
