In 2007 Aeroflot Carried over 3 000 Russian Pilgrims to Hajj in Jidda
OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2007. From November 27, 2007 to January 8, 2008 the air company “Aeroflot – Russian airlines” carried over three thousand Russian pilgrims to Hajj in Jidda and back, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.
Totally, there were 24 pair special flights along the route Mineral Waters – Jidda – Mineral Waters by planes Tu-154.
In cooperation with the Russian Hajj-mission, MIA RF, State Duma, and the government of the Chechen Republic, Aeroflot has been safely providing carriage of pilgrims to the Moslem relics during last three years. The development of economical and cultural connections between RF and KSA contributes to increasing of the demand for flights.
During recent years, the Ministry of Pilgrims Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has considerably increased the quota for pilgrims from Russia.
