IBS Integrates Business Processes at Slavneft-YANOS
OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2007. IBS, the leading player in the IT and consulting market, has produced a conceptual model of integrating materials procurement and plant maintenance business processes for Slavneft-YANOS. Once implemented in the SAP ERP system, this model will enable more precise planning of materials procurement for plant maintenance, reported the press-centre of IBS.
OAO Slavneft-YANOS has been operating the SAP ERP system since 2001. Based on the operation experience, the company wanted to have some of the business processes in the information system re-engineered. More specifically, materials flows for plant maintenance had to be planned with greater precision.
Based on the results of a bidding process, IBS was invited to develop the additional system customization project to meet new user requirements. A survey of the current business processes conducted by IBS consultants showed lack of coordination between operations of various units involved in procurement and plant maintenance.
Based on the survey findings, IBS consultants proposed an integrated model of procurement and plant maintenance business processes providing coordination of plant maintenance and procurement schedules and precise control of expenditures of materials for repairs. The technical project was developed for implementing this model in the SAP ERP system, involving customization of logistics and plant maintenance modules.
The project, including the survey of business processes and development of the conceptual model, was completed within six months, submitted to the Customer and accepted. The customer plans to have the model implemented in the next phase.
