OREANDA-NEWS. January, 2008. President Robert Kocharian received the delegation of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation mission headed by Ambassador Gert Arens.

Noting that the country was going through the extremely important times, the President of Armenia attached great importance to the activities of the observation mission.

“We are interested in conducting the elections, which will fully correspond to the international standards and with regard to the organizational matters we have tried to do our best,” stressed Robert Kocharian.

From the observation mission he anticipates serious cooperation that must be aimed toward conducting good elections. At the same time the President of Armenia said that before registering the claims of wrongdoings it is necessary to thoroughly check all the relevant information.

In his turn Ambassador Arens expressed readiness for cooperation. He briefly presented the works to be conducted by the short-term and long-term observation missions.

Robert Kocharian gave also explanations for the issues raised by the head of the OSCE/ODHIR Observation mission.
