Producer Prices in Latvia Increased by 13%
OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2007. Compared to November 2007, producer prices in Latvian industry in December 2007 fell by 0,1 percent. Compared to December 2006, producer prices in December 2007 have increased 13,1 percent, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau.
Compared to November, in December 2007, the overall level of producer prices was mostly effected by the price decrease of 0,6 percent in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood, except furniture (mainly in the saw-milling and planning of wood, impregnation of wood).
The price increase in the manufacture of food products and beverages (principally of fish, dairy, bread and grain mill products) increased the overall price level by 0,4 percent, in the manufacture of furniture; manufacturing n.e.c. – by 0,2 percent.
Compared to December 2006, in December 2007, the rise of prices in the manufacture of food products and beverages and the increase of electricity, gas, steam and hot water supply tariffs left the largest impact on the overall level of producer prices, increasing it by 4,3 and 2,9 percent, respectively.
The overall level of producer prices was raised by the following price increases: 1,5 percent in the manufacture of wood and products of wood, except furniture, 0,7 percent in the publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media, as well as in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products.
