Dutch „Heron“ Splits Diesel Fuel in Klaipeda Port
OREANDA-NEWS. On January 21, 2007 at about 7.30 a.m. port Dispatchers Office got information from the Dutch ship „Heron“, that at quay No 118 of the operator UAB „Klaipedos hidrotechnika“, during pumping of diesel fuel from one cistern to the other part of it was spilt, reported the press-centre of Klaipeda Port.
This incident was made due to the fault of the crew.
Having received the above notice, Port Dispatchers Office sent rescue cuter „Zaibas“to the place of incident the crew of which started collection of the spilt diesel fuel.
Ship „Heron“ was immediately surrounded by booms. Collection of the spilt diesel fuel is going on.
