OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2007. The development of the nuclear cycle elements and creating prerequisites for the production of nuclear fuel is the strategic task for Ukraine, Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan told Friday deliberations into the development of the nuclear-industrial sector, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

According to the Minister, the activities to this effect correspond to energy security demands approved by the NSDC and introduced with the presidential decree, the Government Action Plan and strategic guidelines of the Ministry.

The Minister also stressed on the need to take immediate moves to develop uranium production for securing the NPP supply with the material in 2015-2017.
