OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2007. In the first ten months of 2007, Latvian exports grew 24 percent to EUR 5 billion (LVL 3,5 billion) compared to the first ten months of 2006.

This is the second highest increase in exports in the European Union (EU), according to "Eurostat" data.

On the other hand, Latvia's imports in the first ten months of 2007 increased by 25 percent to EUR 9,3 billion (LVL 5,8 billion). This was the third largest import increase in the EU.

The highest export increase in the EU during the first ten months of 2007 was in Slovakia - by 29 percent to EUR 34,9 billion (LVL 24,5 billion).

Estonian exports increased by four percent to EUR 6,7 billion (LVL 4,7 billion) and Lithuanian exports increased by 10 percent to EUR 10,4 billion (LVL 7,3 billion) in the first ten months of 2007.

The largest exporters in the first ten months of 2007 were Germany (EUR 806,9 billion), France (EUR 338,8 billion) and the Netherlands (EUR 330,2 billion).
