Bank Saint Petersburg Appoints Deputy Chairman
OREANDA-NEWS. January 17, 2007. The Supervisory Council of Bank “Saint Petersburg” approved to appoint Konstantin Balandin as a Deputy Chairman of the Management Board. His nomination to this position had been earlier agreed with the Head Department of the Bank of Russia for Saint Petersburg.
Mr. Balandin will be responsible for the strategic planning, relationship with the investment community, transactions on the global capital markets and risk management.
Mr. Balandin was born in 1976 in Leningrad. He graduated from the Economic Faculty of the St. Petersburg State University specializing in the Mathematical Methods and Research of Operations in the Economy. He has a PhD in Economics and a qualification certificate from the Federal Securities Commission.
Mr. Balandin began his career at the Treasury Department of the Industry & Construction Bank. In 2000, he moved to Bank “Saint Petersburg” to hold office of a Deputy Director for Assets & Liabilities Management. In 2001 he was appointed as a Deputy Director and in 2006 as a Director of the Bank’s Treasury Department.
“In the past year Bank “Saint Petersburg” made a successful IPO, which generated a great interest of many investors, said Alexander Savelyev, Chairman of the Management Board. Introduction of the office of a Deputy Chairman in charge for the Bank’s transactions on the capital market and relationship with the investors is an important step to the Bank’s higher transparency and attractiveness to the investors”.
