Uzbekistan Launches Competition on Sale of Uzbekistan-Owned Assets
OREANDA-NEWS. On January 15, 2007 the State Property Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced the Competition on Sale of the State-owned Assets and Sites at "Zero" Purchase Price in exchange for Investment Obligations, reported the press-centre of the State Property Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The State Property Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on basis of the decision by the State Tender Commission dated December 27, 2007, announces the Competition on Sale of Inactive and Ineffective Enterprises and Sites, including those unfinished by their construction, at which the State-owned Assets, in accordance with the Resolution by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 20, 2007 No PP-672 "On measures aimed at further deepening of privatization processes and active attraction of foreign investments during the years of 2007-2010", are subject to sale at "Zero" Purchase Price in exchange for Investment Obligations to be undertaken by the investors.
Date of the Competition - March 3, 2008
Place of the Competition - Territotial Competition Commissions by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Hokimiyats (local administration bodies) of the Regions and the City of Tashkent.
All wishing natural persons and legal entities, including non-residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan (foreign investors) are allowed to participate in the Competition.
To participate in the Competition, investors, not later than three days prior to the Date of the Competition, shall present their proposals placed within a sealed envelope for consideration by a Competition Commission.
A Competition Proposal shall contain a Business Plan, Investment Program (the draft) with indication of the dates of its implementation, equipment supplies (in cases when such is foreseen), its technological parameters, planned assortment of production output and its competitiveness, raw-material, measures aimed at raise of production effectiveness, usage of the existing equipment and production areas, expected economic effect, as well as other obligations and plans by an investor on financial-economic invigoration of a Sales' Object or recovery of economic usage of its territory.
Persons and entities wishing to participate at the Competition may apply to the Territotial Competition Commissions by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Hokimiyats (local administration bodies) of the Regions and the City of Tashkent or territorial branches of the State Property Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
