OREANDA-NEWS. On January 14, 2007 Rietumu Bank introduced some changes to term deposit interest rates for Latvian lats, US dollars and euro, reported the press-centre of Rietumu Bank.

The Bank increases most of the term deposit rates for Latvian lats. New increased interest rates are set as follows: for 1 month – 7,50%, for 3 months – 8,00%; for 6 months, 1 and 2 years the rates are increased up to 8,25% p.a. Changes also pertain to interest rates for term deposits in Latvian lats with periodic interest repayment, for term accumulative deposits and deposits with interest capitalization for 6 months, 1 and 2 years the rates, which are increased up to 8,15% p.a.
 
At the same time interest rates for deposits in euro and the US dollars decreases a little.

Interest rates for term deposits in euro: for 1 month – 4,50%, for 3 months – 4,80%, for 6 months – 5,00%, for 1 year – 5,10%, for 2 years – 5,20%, for 3 years – 5,30%, for 5 years – 5,40% p.a.

For term deposits in euro with periodic interest repayment, for term accumulative deposits and deposits with interest capitalization the following changes apply: for 6 months – 4,90%, for 1 year – 5,00%, for 2 years – 5,10%, for 3 years – 5,20%, for 5 years – 5,30% p.a.

For term deposits in US dollars interest rates are as follows: for 1 month – 4,50%, for 3 months – 4,70%, for 6 months and 1 year – 5,00%, for 2 years – 5,05%, for 3 years – 5,10%, for 5 years – 5,15% p.a. Interest rates for term deposits in US dollars with periodic interest repayment, for term accumulative deposits and deposits with interest capitalization: for 6 months and 1 year – 4,90%, for 2 years – 4,95%, for 3 years – 5,00%, for 5 years – 5,05% p.a.

New interest rates apply only to those term deposit agreements concluded starting from the 14th of January. Interest rates for deposits in Great Britain pounds remain unchanged.
