OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2008. Alfa Bank (Ukraine) has become a winner in three out of four categories on The Top 100 Most Successful Companies list  by Investgazeta, the bank's press service announced. The relevant category dwells on the domestic banks that possess over UAH10,000,000,000 in assets.

According to the rating details, the first six months of 2007 revealed that the growth of the Bank’s assets, equity, and loan portfolio has been the fastest among its peers nationwide.

The Bank has boosted its assets 59.4% along with its equity, which raised 120.02% and loans increased 79.62%, and that move has made it possible for Alfa Bank (Ukraine) to receive the top grades in the relevant categories of the mentioned above rating. Furthermore, the company has also worked it through to the top ten banks in terms of deposit portfolio increase.

The Top 100 Most Successful Companies is a rating program addressed to the business entities proving to have shown the greatest rates of growth. Both ‘old dodgers’ and ‘youngsters’ of the national finance market are present in the program, showing high rates of growth in their gross income and profits as well as in their business generally under the tough competitive conditions in the industry.

Alfa Bank (Ukraine) is a division of Alfa Group and is rated on the top of the group of large banking institutions under the NBU classification. The Alfa Bank (Ukraine)  income has been UAH38.58M as for December 1, 2007, which is 216% more than for the same period of the year 2006. The bank’s equity has been increased as much as 3.8 times since the beginning of the current year and is now equal to UAH1,370 Mln. The company is rated B2 by Moody’s in respect of its foreign currency deposit ratings (positive outlook) and Ba3 in respect of its local currency deposit ratings (stable outlook), while its long-term national scale rating is Aa1.ua. Alfa Bank (Ukraine) leads the market as arranger of corporate bond offering. In the course of 2002 through 2007, the bank has arranged for successful subscription to corporate bonds issued by a number of companies including Galichfarm pharmaceutical firm; AVK confectionary company; Mandarin Plaza construction company; Molochnik dairy products manufacturer (operating through Agrospetsresursy LLC); Velyka Kyshenia supermarkets chain; Metalen LLC metals manufacturer; Kreativ sunflower oil producer (operating thru Sunoil- Finance LLC); Energoatom, the largest power generation company in Ukraine; Dneproshina, manufacturer of large-size automotive tires; Drogobytskiy Dolotniy Zavod (“Drogobytch Factory of Drilling Bits”) manufacturer of drilling equipment; Universalnaya insurance firm; and Fora retail trade network.

In total, the bank has arranged for subscription of UAH2.406 Bln of bond issues.
