Singapore Airlines to Launch Singapore–Houston Flights via Domodedovo
OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2008. Effective March 20, 2008, Singapore Airlines will start operating Singapore – Moscow (Domodedovo) – Houston flights, the Domodedovo press service informs. The airline will operate Boeing 777-300ER aircraft four times a week.
“The Houston market is very promising. Houston is the fourth largest US city, one of the largest economic centres in America, and is second only to New York in terms of the number of large industrial US companies concentrated in the city. Furthermore, the Houston seaport processes the largest amount of international cargo”, - says Mr. Eddie Leong, General Manager Russia Singapore Airlines Ltd., commenting on the launch of flights to a new destination.
“Houston is not only a large economic, but also a tourist centre. Furthermore, Houston is the “gateway” to the Caribbean islands and South America”, - says Daria Korshunova, Director Public Relations Domodedovo airport, commenting on the launch of the new flights.
The new non-stop flights will be operated using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with a three-class arrangement outfitted with new-generation equipment created by the Singapore Airlines designers.
Additionally, effective March 20, 2008, the frequency of the Singapore – Moscow (Domodedovo) flights operated by Singapore Airlines will increase as the service will become daily.
“Moscow is becoming a strategically important destination for Singapore Airlines as it brings together one of the largest industrial centres in the United States and the “gateway” to South-eastern Asia. The increased service frequency undoubtedly demonstrates the importance of Moscow as one of the principal world trade centres. We will continue operating flights via Dubai three times a week as we understand the popularity of this destination among Russian travelers and its importance as a connection point”, - said Mr. Eddie Leong.
The flights from Singapore to Moscow via Dubai will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while the new non-stop flights will depart from Singapore in early morning hours each Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. They will arrive in Moscow in the afternoon and proceed further to Houston.
