Transmashholding to Deliver Nine Metro Cars to Bulgaria
OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2007. The Metrowagonmah (Mytishchi, the Moscow Region) and the municipal government of Sofia (Bulgaria) concluded an agreement for delivery of Rusich type cars to the Sofia metro, reported the press-centre of Transmashholding.
Under the agreement the plant has taken a commitment to deliver three three-car trains designated 81-740.2/741.2 to the customer in 2009 (May-July).
To satisfy the customer’s demand, the cars will be fitted with HITACHI asynchronous drives.
A total of six such trains were shipped to Sofia in 2005-2006, all of them now operational.
It is noteworthy that the Rusich type cars manufactured by the Metrowagonmash since 2003 are a new generation rolling stock integrating cut-of-the-edge Russian railway technology.
