OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2008. In 2007, throughput of the port Temryuk grew by 15.49%, year-on-year, to 1.334.74 million tonnes. In the reported period, transshipment of export cargo totaled 1.122.01 million tonnes (+11.2%, year-on-year) including 264,950 tonnes of sawn timber, 42,151 tonnes of round timber, 291,340 tonnes of chemical cargo. In the 12-month period, transshipment of grain cargo amounted to 144,800 tonnes. Transshipment of fertilizers totaled 31,058 tonnes, non-ferrous metal – 179,92o tonnes, general cargo – 180,320 tonnes. Transshipment of import cargo totaled 211,73o tonnes (+45.4%, year-on-year). In the reported period the port handled 595 vessels (+4.9%, year-on-year).

Seaport Temryuk is located at Taman coast of the Sea of Azov. Total length of the port’s berths is 1200 running meters. Major type of cargo handled at the port is the general cargo: round timber, timber materials, metal, as well as out-of-gage load and foodstuffs. Dredging works carried out from 1996, has almost finalized for the moment being at the approach canal, and the port is able to accept river-and-sea-going vessels with up to 5,000 tonnes of displacement.
