OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2008. OAO Belarusbank will provide Br1.567 trillion in preferential loans to individuals for housing construction in 2008. OAO Belagroprombank is expected to provide Br.1041 trillion in preferential loans to corporations. These lending figures are stipulated by joint resolution No 1838/18 of the Council of Ministers and the National Bank.

All in all, in 2008 Belarusian banks are expected to allocate Br2.781 trillion in loans for housing construction, including Br2.609 trillion in preferential loans. This year banks are expected to apportion Br172.4 billion in loans for building or buying homes under terms defined by the banks. The loans will be available from OAO Belarusbank, OAO Belagroprombank, OAO BPS-Bank, Priorbank OAO, and OAO Belinvestbank.

All in all, there are plans to channel Br5.42 trillion into housing construction and reconstruction in 2008 while in 2007 the figure stood at Br4.192 trillion. Besides, this year Br750.17 billion is to be allocated to finance the construction of engineering and transport facilities in new residential districts. In 2008 individuals are expected to put Br2.152 billion into housing construction while the state budget is supposed to contribute Br309 billion.

In 2008 there are plans to build 5.2 million square metres of homes in Belarus, including 3.943 million square metres for people on the housing register (76% of the total housing commissioned in the country).

This year agricultural companies are expected to commission 7,580 homes with the total area as large as 586,200 square metres. There are plans to allocate Br1.079 trillion to make it possible. This year there are also plans to build 49,100 square metres of social use premises for 898 families. There are plans to commission 158,900 square metres of housing for over 1,800 large families.
