CPC Loads Out over 1 bln of Export Crude Since Beginning of Operation
OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2008. Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) loaded out 32.6 MMTA of export crude at its Marine Terminal in Novorossiysk during 2007, the company's press service reported. This is 4.8% more than in 2006. Using its SPM’s, CPC loaded crude oil aboard 315 tankers in 2007.
Overall, more than 143 MMT (over 1 billion barrels) of crude oil has been loaded out since the pipeline was brought on line in October 2001. CPC connects oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Russian Black Sea coast. Russian crude has also been injected into the system at Kropotkin Pump Station in Krasnodar Krai since 2004.
The share capital of CPC is equally split between the Founding State Members and private oil companies. The interests of the Founding Governments are as follows:
Russia – 24%, Kazakhstan – 19%, and the Sultanate of Oman – 7%. The private oil companies participating in the Consortium include Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company (15%), LUKARCO B.V. (12.5%), Rosneft-Shell Caspian Ventures Limited – (7.5%), Mobil Caspian Pipeline Company (7.5%), Agip International (N.A.) N.V. (2%), BG Overseas Holding Limited (2%), Kazakhstan Pipeline Ventures LLC (1.75%) and Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC (1.75%).
