OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2007. Based on the activity results of the year 2007, the Central Securities Depository of Lithuania announced the most efficiently working banks and financial brokerage enterprises of the country, reported the press-centre of Ukio bankas.

Ukio bankas was announced the winner in the category “For Leadership in Using the Settlement Link between the Depository and Clearstream Banking Luxembourg”.

Ukio bankas earned award for the highest value of its portfolio held in custody with Clearstream Banking Luxembourg and the number of securities emissions. According to the nominal value of its portfolio, Ukio bankas is by more than 40 percent ahead of its nearest competitors. According to the number of securities held in custody, Ukio bankas outstrips its rivals by more than 70 percent.

“This award is a perfect demonstration of Ukio bankas successful activities. We are the most active in the market according to the number of transactions concluded via the Central Securities Depository of Lithuania as well as the number of securities held in custody. We are happy that our active work and regular analysis of foreign markets have resulted in a continuously growing portfolio of our clients’ debt securities,” Ruta Kalasinskaite-Kiskiene, director of Ukio bankas Financial Brokerage Department, said.

Clearstream Banking Luxembourg is a clearing division of the German stock exchange Deutsche Borse, founded in Luxembourg in 2000. The Central Securities Depository of Lithuania uses its services as well.
