OREANDA-NEWS. December 27, 2007.  The conversation is about power station "Djanub" the basis of which has been recently incorporated by president of the country (on 24-th of December in Ali-Bairamli).

The press-service of joint-stock company "Azerenerji" informing on it has noted, that the builded station will consist of steam-gas turbines, gas compressors, office, pool, parking place, park, fire branch 220, 330 and 110-KVt auxiliary stations, water purifier, water, black oil and diesel boilers, installations processing black oil, pump station of oil - clarification, transformers, system transformers and office building. Let us note, that this station by capacity of 780 MVt will be given into operation in 2-3 years. The power station will work both on natural gas and on black oil. One of distinctive features of this station which will be constructed and given into operation due to internal means is that if foreign companies participated in tenders on construction of stations till this day with the condition of "delivery of keys" the tender on construction of this station was won by local company "Azenco" and it will carry out the construction with the condition of "delivery of keys".
Also let us note, that power station "Djanub" will be equipped with the advanced equipment. On the basis of signed contracts gas turbines will be purchased from American companies, and electro-parts at French companies.

If now the efficiency of "Ali-Bairamli" HPS is equal to 26%, so at new-builded station the efficiency will equal to 52%. By opinion of experts as a result of increase of efficiency of the station this station having worked will make 6800 hours as much electric power as at Ali-Bairamli HPS in 2006, that is 5,3 billion. KVt/h of electric power. By calculations it was found out, that the station will be justified in 6 years.

The power station "Djanub" in the future will play the important role in qualitative and constant power supply and distribution of Absheron peninsula and all southern region.  

Also let us note, that in connection with the construction of new station 1500 persons will receive workplaces, and after the construction there will be created 500-600 constant workplaces.
