President of Ukraine Speaks for Economic Stability
OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2007. Making concluding remarks on the meeting of Cabinet of Ministers President Victor Yushchenko emphasized that National Bank of Ukraine together with Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Economy must ensure macroeconomic stability in Ukraine during 2008, reported the Official website http://www.president.gov.ua.
According to President without macroeconomic stability full-fledged social policy is impossible. Therefore abovementioned bodies must take all necessary measures so that population, business groups and investors would feel confidence about Ukrainian economy. Also budgetary deficit should not exceed 2%.
In his address V. Yushchenko expressed a range of wishes regarding modifications of budget for 2008. Among them is provision for some social programs such as building affordable accommodation, helping families with many children, supporting rural medical institutions, etc.
In addition V. Yushchenko considers appropriate to restrict maximum pension amounts for certain citizens categories such as for state employees to 5 thousands hryvnyas.
