OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2007. A year later after withdrawal from the shareholders of Zaporozhstal OJSC, the so-called "Kiev group" of Andrei Ivanov and Vasiliy Khmelnitskiy again got as partners their old friends – the second by importance group of shareholders of Zapad-Reserv Iron and Steel – Igor Dvoretskiy and his partners, this time in Khreschatik bank, UFC-Capital reports.

From 1999, the second largest steel producer in Ukraine on a parity basis was controlled by three business groups – of Vasily Khmelnitskiy and Andrei Ivanov, Midland Recourses owned by Alex Schnaider and Eduard Shifrin, and Zapad-Reserv (risks insurance company through which the steel producer insures all its activities) owned by Igor Dvoretskiy and Vitaliy Satskiy. In early December of 2006, "Kiev group" sold its stake by equal portions to two other shareholder groups. The fact that it was they who became the buyers and not the third party groups is explained by exiting agreements related to distribution of influence spheres at the company that were reached by three structures in 1999. Under these agreements, if someone from this big-3 decides to sell its stakes in the company, it must offer them first to the partners.

A year later Anrei Ivanov and Vasiliy Khmelnitskiy reunited with the "metallurgical insurers" in Khreschatik bank. Pursuant to the decision made by the shareholders of the bank, held on December 21, the representatives of Kiev City State Administration in the supervisory board of the bank were replaced by the shareholders of Industrialbank that in parallel are the shareholders of Zaporozhstal – Artur Abdinov (the steel producer supervisory board chair: directly owned 6.503% in Industrialbank, indirectly – 4.26%,), Igor Dvoretskiy (the steel producer supervisory board deputy chair: accordingly, 5.9298% and 25.6182%), Nicolai Soldatenko (16.5009% and 25.6393%.) and Artem Laznia. Taking into account that the supervisory board was left by representatives of the owner holding a 23.7037% stake – Main financial department of Kiev City State Administration headed by Oles Dovgiy (Kiev city council secretary), who headed the supervisory board of Khreschatiл bank, one may assume that the new owners of the municipal stake became the aforesaid shareholders of Zaporozhstal.

Khreschatik CB was established in 1993, till the end of the last year its key shareholder was Kiev. According to the bank, as at October 1, 2007 its net assets amounted to UAH 4.3 bn, net profit for 9 months – UAH 32.7 mn, which by 48% exceeds the figures of the comparable period of 2006 (UAH 22.058 mn). According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as at October 1, 2007, by its total assets Khreschatik held the 26th place among 173 banks of Ukraine.
