OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2007. The parties expressed their interest in joint investment projects aimed at upgrading metallurgical equipment and manufacturing spare parts through placing equipment orders with MK Uralmash including orders for blast-furnace shop, electric furnace shop, rolling shops and oxygen-converter plant equipment.

The major investment projects include an upgrade of continuous casting machine No. 2 and blast furnace No. 3, major overhaul of blast furnace No. 5, repair of the 20-roll mill, supply of ladle turrets for the continuous bloom caster. There are also plans to install sintering equipment, which will allow increasing annual production from 4.5 to 6.5 million tons of sinter.

From the 40-s of the XXth century onwards, Uralmashplant significantly contributed to equipping all CHMK production stages with machinery and facilities.
