OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2007. In pursuance to the presidential decree "On additional measures to support financially and morally the young families", UzPromStroyBank (Uzbek industrial construction) joint-stock commercial bank issued preferential credit worth 8.3 billion soums to 1,725 young families in 2007, the bank's press service reported.

The bank is planning to allocate credits to young families for at least 4 billion soums every month in 2008. The proclaiming by the President Islam Karimov of 2008 as the Year of Youth will stimulate the bank's intention.

Moreover, one of the bank's priority directions is support of small business entities. As of 1 October 2007, UzPromStroyBank issued credits to small businesses worth a total of 80 billion soums, including for implementation of investment projects worth 61.6 billion soums. Out of the total amount of credits, 5.5 billion soums fell on micro credits.
