OREANDA-NEWS. December 24, 2007. December fixes highest growth of mails at post. On the eve of New Year the number of mails is 1,5 times more than in summer, reported the press-centre of Russian Post.

In December parcel post grows most of all. The number of parcels is 60-80% higher compared to spring and 2 times compared to summer rates. Regarding the facts Russian Post took measures to improve the logistics and line-haul network capacity in advance.

Russian Post implemented new routes and improved already existing ones that aims at speeding up mail delivery. It has also increased transport run frequency. In particular, railway routes Moscow – Tumen and Tumen – Nizhnevartovsk were unified in one line Moscow – Tumen – Nizhnevartovsk with run frequency of mail cars in this direction. Line-haul railway route Saint Petersburg – Saratov was extended to Astrakhan with run frequency increased almost twice.

Some improvements are made in the direction Orenburg – Moscow and Yaroslavl – Vladivostok.
The enterprise implemented new line-haul car routes: Voronezh – Kursk – Orel – Bryansk, Voronezh – Belgorod, Nizhniy Novgorod – Kirov, Yaroslavl – Izhevsk, Moscow – Orenburg, Rostov-on-Don – Stavropol – Mineralnie Vody, Tumen – Noyabrsk, Тver – Saint Petersburg. Car routes Moscow – Ryazan, Yaroslavl – Saint Petersburg, Yaroslavl – Perm – Еkaterinburg, Yaroslavl – Vologda – Kirov, Тоmsk – Novosibirsk, Moscow – Тver – Perm, Moscow – Yaroslavl – Vologda, Rostov-on-Don – Krasnodar also increased run frequency. Moreover, post stipulates extra hauls in different routes within the period of extended mail inflow.
