OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2007. Due to shutdown of blast furnace No.5 for capital repair, starting from November 9 the production assignment slightly decreased but the work of the three remaining furnaces has increased. The blast furnace operators have successfully fulfilled the assigned tasks.

With continuous supply of hot sinter, the produced quantity of it amounted to 423043 tons last month or 12443 tons more than planned, 268159 tons of pig iron was produced, being 19159 tons more than planned. The open-hearth furnace operators produced 15409 tons more of steel than the forecast 329115 tons. Due to the 5000 tons of surplus steel delivered to the rolling shops, it has been possible to produce an additional amount of finished products, amounting to 304982 tons.

732 mln 170 thousand UAH worth of commercial goods have been produced, exceeding the planned production volume by 20 mln 468.6 thousand UAH.

In the concluding month of the expiring year of 2007 the sintering plant operators have to produce 442 thousand tons of sinter, the blast furnace operators — 266.8 thousand tons of pig iron, the open-hearth furnace operators — 347.6 thousand tons of steel and the rolling operators — 284 000 tons of rolled products. There is no doubt that the Works’ metallurgists will fulfill this plan with dignity.
