OREANDA-NEWS. December 19, 2007. “North-West Timber Company” became a prize winner in two nominations of the 4-th annual premium “PROFI Results-2007” established by Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kaliningrad region, reported the press-centre of North-West Timber Company.
 
The Chairperson of Board of Directors Irina Bitkova was recognized as “Top-Manager of 2007”; and the start-up of the first in Russia totally chlorine free (TCF) pulp-and-paper production at Neman Pulp-and-Paper Mill was recognized as “Breakthrough of 2007.
 
The fifty-five experts from political and business circles of the region have been choosing the winners for three months. As a result the Governor of the Kaliningrad region Georgy Boos has been named the winner in nomination “Personality of the Year”; the General Director of “Jantarenergo” Mikhail Tsikel has been named the “Manager of the Year”; the company “KD-avia” and Group of companies “Victoria” have been named the “Brand of the Year”. The solemn ceremony of “Public recognition” took place in Kaliningrad in the premises of “Rybniy House”.

The President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kaliningrad region Igor Tsarkov presented the prize diplomas to the Deputy General Director of External Relations of “North-West Timber Company” Yury Murashko. On behalf of NWTC Yury Murashko thanked the experts and the organizers of the event. “Last year we were recognized as the “Investor of the Year” for realization of the development project of the new paper factory at Neman PPM. This year we have become the winners in two nominations. I hope the next projects of NWTC will attract the public attention as well”.

In 2008 NWTC will put into operation the own printing plant at Neman PPM; in spring, 2008 NPPM will start to produce commercial dry lignosulfonates; in 2009 NPPM will put into operation a new waste water treatment plant and a new paper factory.

Mikhail Plukhin, the Minister for Territorial Development and Interaction with Self-Government Agencies of Administration of the Kaliningrad region said: “The prize of “PROFI Results-2007” means the social recognition of the “North-West Timber Company” all over Russia”. Igor Tsarkov is sure that the winners add investment attractiveness to the region.
