OREANDA-NEWS. December 19, 2007. The transfer to TCF-production of cellulose (totally chlorine free) has made it possible to increase the output of lignosulfonates. Now we produce 2 tons of 50-55 % lignosulfonate solution per one ton of cellulose, reported the press-centre of Neman Pulp-and-Paper Mill.

For the end-consumer the most applicable form of the product is the powdered dry lignosulfonate. The powdered form allows decreasing the transport costs and is more convenient. The lignosulfonate produced at Neman Pulp-and-Paper Mill is exported all over the world including Israel, Turkey, Poland, and Byelorussia, United Arab Emirates and others. At present the delivery of lignosulfonate solution is carried out in railway cistern cars and in flexi-tanks. The dry lignosulfonate will be packed into big bags, paper and polyethylene bags that are the most convenient for the customers.

NWTC acquired in Denmark the line for drying lignosulfonates “GEA Niro A/S”. The production output of the line is 3 thousand tons of commercial dry lignosulfonates per month”, the Deputy Executive Director of NWTC Sergey Vaskov said. We have begun the building of a new department for “GEA Niro A/S” line adjacent to the vacuum evaporation plant.

Lignosulfonates are used in chemical industry (production of lacquers, paints, cosmetics and others), in oil producing industry (chemical agent for drill fluid), in foundry production (as a binding substance for casting, and an additive to parting paints), in cement industry, and in production of refractory materials (as a plasticizer of cement and a binding substance).
