IBS Builds Multi-Service Network for ZAO Eurotelecom
OREANDA-NEWS. December 19, 2007. IBS, Russia’s leading player in the IT and consulting market, has completed the project of deploying the multi-service telecoms network of ZAO Eurotelecom in the town of Volzhsky. The new network enables the operator to provide high quality internet access, data transfer and a wide array of additional services, reported the press-centre of IBS.
The network deployed provides data transfer at up to 10 Gbps and supports delivery of guaranteed bandwidth services of service quality sufficient for real-time video and voice transfer.
The MPLS VPN additional service introduced enables Eurotelecom to offer its corporate customers the capability of linking geographically distributed offices into one common secure corporate network.
The network supports delivery of a variety of services including:
bandwidth on demand;
video services: IPTV, video on demand, videoconferencing;
IP telephony; telephone services;
interactive games;
multi-level internet access;
setting up level 2 and level 3 closed private networks;
additional network security services.
Eurotelecom's backbone IP/MPLS network consists of seven access nodes using Cisco Systems hardware. Routers are linked with independent telecoms lines using the company's optical transport backbone network having the total length of over 110 kilometers. Network planning, testing and hardware setup services were provided by IBS in cooperation with Cisco Systems professionals. The project was carried out during the three months from September till November 2007.
"The new state-of-the-art broadband network enables us to offer and proactively develop new services and provides much better capability for Volzhsky residents to receive and exchange information and multimedia content, while the state-of-the-art hardware and technology solutions enable a common information exchange administration and engineering policy and lead to easier network administration and lower total cost of ownership", Sergey Dolmatov, General Director of Eurotelecom, commented on the project.
