OREANDA-NEWS. On December 22, 2007 by his Decree No 658, the President of the Republic of Belarus has determined the aims of utilising the resources of the republican fund for the support of the producers of agricultural goods, foodstuffs and agrarian science, reported the Official website http://president.gov.by.

The Decree is due to come into force on 1 January 2008. It is aimed at stepping up the effectiveness of the resources of the fund and ensuring the appropriate control over their spending.

The 2008 revenues of the fund are expected to amount to Br 2,263.8 billion, or 20,8 per cent more than is provisioned in the national rural revival programme 2005-2010.

93 per cent of the fund’s resources will be channelled into financing regional events; seven per cent will be left in possession of the Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs for financing national events.

The Decree provides a good foundation for boosting production of agricultural goods and improving the effectiveness of agricultural companies.
