China to Start Construction of New Units of Taiwan NPP in 2009
OREANDA-NEWS. December 20, 2007. China is going to start the construction of the 3rd and 4th units of Tianwan NPP in cooperation with Russia in mid 2009, the head of Atomstroyexport’s representation at Tianwan NPP Alexander Selikhov told the Russian journalists who visited the plant, today, on Dec 20.
He said that Russia and China had already signed a framework agreement and were negotiating the terms of the contract for the construction of the 3rd and 4th units. The project will last for 62–68 months.
Selikhov pointed out the significance of the experience the Russian and Chinese specialists had gained during the construction of the first two units. “We have gained big experience and it will help us in the future.”
Selikhov pointed out that Russian specialists were in high demand both in Russia and abroad.
