Mazeikiu Nafta Receives Silver Medal for Product of Year
OREANDA-NEWS. On December 18, 2007 the Office of President, in the Lithuanian Product of the Year Contest – 2007 held in by Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, awarded AB Maюeikiш Nafta the silver medal for the current year product, gasoline with ethanol, reported the press-centre of Mazeikiu Nafta.
This is the second year in a row when the company has received the awards. Last year the only oil refining company in the Baltic States was awarded two medals: the gold medal for diesel fuel containing FAME additive (fatty acid methyl ester produced of biocomponent rape oil) and the silver medal for the gasoline containing ETBE additive (ethyltretbutyl ether produced of biocomponent ethanol).
This year the high award was granted for the environmentally friendly 95 grade gasoline with biocomponents. The product has been created by Maюeikiш Nafta specialists. Fuels produced using bioadditives of renewable energy sources reduce the environmental pollution.
“The company is especially concerned about environmental protection and pursues that its products are as much nature friendly as possible. We are pleased that our endeavors are evaluated.” - AB Maюeikiш Nafta Deputy General Director Albertas Gimbutas says.
The new AB Maюeikiш Nafta product is produced for the Lithuanian market only. Approximately 12 thousand tones of the product is sold in Lithuania monthly. This makes about 15 percent of total 95 grade gasoline sold in all the markets.
