Official of Ukraine Denies Absence of Money on Single Treasury Account
OREANDA-NEWS. On December 14, 2007 the Finances Ministry of Ukraine denied reports that the Government of Viktor Yanukovych has allegedly left on the single treasury account at the end of the year some one billion UAH only, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.
The Finances Ministry press service, in its statement issued Friday called these allegations "irresponsible and false". "Such shameful statements by politicians adversely influence the credit rating of Ukraine, investors' expectations and trust of the people in the state, on the whole," the press service stated.
The Finances Ministry stressed that the 2007 budgetary schedule is implemented stably and conservatively loaded. Expenditures of the current year, including the expenditures of December have been fully financed. Still, as of December 14, 2007 the remains of the funds on the single treasury account amount to 24,84 bn. UAH, including 12,49 bn. in UAH and 12,35 bn. in currency (one USD=5,05 UAH).
All incomes to the budget up to December 31 will be stockpiled on the single treasury account to be spent next year. "Thus, the Government of Yanukovych leaves huge financial resources, which is quite enough for stable social-economic development," the Finances Ministry staffers reported.
