OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2007. 16th meeting of the Coordinating Committee for Cooperation between Rosenergoatom Concern and Energoatom company (Ukraine) took place in St.Petersburg on Dec 12–13 2007

The Russian delegation was led by the deputy technical director of Rosenergoatom Concern, the Russian co-chair of the committee Nikolay Davidenko, the Ukrainian delegation – by the general inspector-director for safety, the Ukrainian co-chair of the committee Danko Villey.

The sides discussed the results of their work in 2007 and the plans for 2008.

Among the key tasks of the first quarter of 2008 are the exchange of preliminary reports on INES incidents at Rosenergoatom and Energoatom nuclear power plants and the drafting of a special project in the framework of the program for investing in the completion of unfinished and construction of new nuclear power plants. For the latter purpose the directors of the program will meet next year to consider prospects and formats of cooperation.

The sides also signed an agreement for direct cooperation between Volgodonsk and Khmelnisky NPPs.

The next meeting is to take place in Sevastopol (Ukraine) in May-June 2008.
