OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2007. The management of Zlatoust Metallurgical Plant (ZMP, Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk region), part of management company “Electric Steel of Russia” (ESTAR), intend to reduce significantly the price for lunch at the enterprise canteens and improve their nutritional value.

As the press secretary of JSC ZMP, Inna Gladisheva, informed Ural-press-inform, the enterprise has started making direct contracts with food suppliers for the enterprise canteens. The priority will be given to environmentally healthy products of farmers from the Uysk district.

The enterprise currently gets daily supplies of 12 t of milk, 8 t of sour cream and 6 t of meat. The average lunch price in the canteen of the plant is 50 rubles. It fell by 10% after cutback of trade markups. The plant’s workers get monthly meal allowances – 500 rubles per person. After negotiations with suppliers the enterprise managed to reduce meat purchasing prices from 100 rubles to 97 rubles 20 kopecks. Now that direct supply contracts for milk and sour cream were made, the metallurgists’ lunches will be 1.5-2 rubles cheaper.

In the third quarter of the current year the number of visitors in 11 canteens of JSC ZMP increased by 40% up to 7,754 persons that accounts for over 82.3% of all the enterprise employees. The kitchen’s turnover grew up to 6.3 mln rubles per month that allowed increasing the salary of 184 cooks and kitchen staff by 25%.
