Loan Interest Rates in Latvia Remains the Highest in Baltic
OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2007. Loan interest rates in Latvia still remained the highest in the Baltic countries in September, according to the Central Statistical Bureau's (CSB) data.
Average interest rate on short-term loans was 12,8 percent, compared to 8,1 percent in September 2006, whereas interest rate on long-term loans was 16,8 percent, compared to 10,4 percent last September.
In Lithuania, average interest rate on short-term loans was 7,2 percent in September (5 percent in September 2006), whereas average long-term loan interest rate was 7,8 percent (7 percent last year).
The respective figures for Estonia in September were 6,9 percent for short-term loans (5,6 percent in September 2006) and 8,8 percent for long-term loans (7,7 percent a year ago).
