OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2007. In Moscow, in the All-Russia Exhibition Center, a traditional exhibition called "Grid of Russia – 2007" took place. Heads of JSC Federal Grid Company of the Unified Energy System took part in the ceremony of its opening: First Vice-Chairperson of the Management Board of JSC UES FGC Aleksandr Chistyakov, Director for technology of JSC UES FGC Mikhail Lint and Chief of the Department for the systems of transfer and transformation of the electric power of JSC UES FGC Yury Dementyev. Sergey Shumaker, Deputy General Director - Technical Director of JSC IDGC of the Center took part in the work of the exhibition, the press service of the IDGC of the Center reported.

Within the limits of the action, a scientific and technical seminar was included in the program of the exhibition dedicated to "Electric Technical Equipment and Switching Centres", "Overhead and Cable Transmission Lines",  Devices of Relay Protection and Emergency Controls, Automatic Process Control System and Information, Communication and Automatic System For the Commercial Accounting of Power Consumption".

In connection with growth of volumes of construction, re-equipment and reconstruction of grid facilities of all classes of voltage, the volume of the equipment and services ordered also considerably increased. For successful realization by the grid companies of investment plans, coordination of actions with suppliers of the equipment, materials and services is necessary, one of the means of which is participation in thematic exhibitions and conferences.

"Now that approaches to investment activity vary concerning both quantity and quality indicators, there appeared brand new requirements to the equipment which is applied in the grid complex. These requirements are reflected in Regulations for the technical policy of JSC UES FGC in the distributive grid complex. The criteria were approved allowing to define precisely whether the equipment produced meets requirements of grid companies powermen or not," Sergey Shumakher, Deputy General Director - Technical Director of JSC IDGC of the Center, noted. "It is necessary that all Russian enterprises producing the electric technical equipment should be developed in the direction which will provide the powermen of the grid companies with the safe future."
