FAS Russia Receives High Level of Transparency
OREANDA-NEWS. On December 12, 2007 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) received "high level of transparency" in the National Rating of Procurement Transparency among the federal authorities, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
FAS Russia was rated along with 93 federal ministries, agencies and services, the authorities of all constituent territories of the Russian Federation, 50 ordering parties - authorities of municipalities with the largest population, as well as 100 largest Russian public companies.
Rating was completed by the analytical group of "the National Rating of Procurement Transparency" Project, organized as part of the public initiative "Transparency Rating 2007".
The purpose of such rating is to form a comprehensive picture of the Russian procurement market, estimate overall financial losses of the state of corporate sectors caused by corruption, and identify the best procurement agents in Russia.
Based on the analysis of procurement practices of the Rating leaders, researchers developed general recommendation on procurement quality improvement, prevention of price manipulations, control of procurement procedures, etc.
"The Antimonopoly Service gives high priority to the Project. The Transparency Rating of State Procurement has gained a recognized authority, and we are very pleased that FAS Russia, being a body responsible for control of state procurement, has received such high appraisal of its economic activities", - said a State-Secretary, Deputy Head of FAS Russia Andrei Tsarikovsky.
