OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2007. The newly renovated premises of the Russian Commercial Bank in Limassol were inaugurated by His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mr. Sergey Lavrov, reported the press-centre of VTB.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sergey Lavrov, the Chief Executive Officer of the Russian Commercial Bank, Mr. Mikhail Kuzovlev, as well as the Mayor of Limassol Mr. Andreas Christou addressed the various government officials, prominent businessmen and other distinguished guests who were present.

After the inauguration, the Foreign Minister Mr. Sergey Lavrov, awarded the Mayor Mr. Andreas Christou the Alexandr Poushkin Metal, honoring him for his valuable contribution in strengthening the Russian – Cypriot relations and friendship and the promotion of the Russian culture.  The Pushkin Metal is awarded by the President of the Russian Federation Mr. Vladimir Poutin to graduates of former soviet and Russian institutions as a token of appreciation for their role in the promotion of the Russian civilization.  Upon receipt of the metal, the Mayor of Limassol Mr. Andreas Christou thanked the Foreign Minister, the Government of the Russian Federation and the Russian people for the great honor.

A cocktail reception followed the inauguration and award ceremony at the newly refurbished premises of the Russian Commercial Bank.
