OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2007. Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard and shipping company Palmali have signed a contract for construction of five tankers of New Armada type, project RST22. The design of the vessel was worked out by Marine Engineering Bureau (Odessa). The project RST22 of New Armada type is based on 6,400-dwt tankers project 005RST01 known as Aramda and designed earlier by Marine Engineering Bureau for Palmali group. The series was built at shipyards ADA and SELAH in Tuzla (Turkey) in 2002-2006.

The contract for construction of five tankers of the series was signed in February 2007 with an option for five more tankers. The first tanker of the series was laid down in May, the rest four tankers – in June. The delivery if the series is scheduled for 2008. The tankers which were in the option are to be build by 2009.
Class of the vessel – LU 1 I I А1 of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, ECO Project.

Basic characteristics: length – 139.95 m, width – 16.60 m, depth – 6.0 m, deadweight in the sea – some 7,000 tonnes with draught of 6.99 m (in river – 4,700 with draft 3.60 m, capacity of tanks – 8,090 cubic meters, capacity of main engine – 2х1200 kWt, operational speed – 10.5 knots.
