Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard Launches Forth Tanker for Pietro Barbaro S.A
OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2007. Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard (Nizhni Novgorod) has launched the forth tanker built for its Italian customer Pietro Barbaro S.A.. The contract for construction of two tankers was concluded in August, 2005. The customer took delivery of the vessels in June 2006. Then the yard signed the contract with Pietro Barbaro S.A. for construction of two more tankers of the same project. The delivery of Dorida tanker is scheduled May 2008.
The tanker is capable of carrying up to five types of cargoes in a voyage, including crude oil, oil products, diesel fuel and fuel oil. Double sides and a double bottom of the tanker prevent from oil spillage. Class: КМ IIСП ЛУI А3 of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
DWT of the tanker is about 5,000 mt, basic characteristics of the tanker: length – 140 m, width – 16 m, draught – 3.5 m, depth – 6 m, lifting capacity is about 5,200 mt, speed – 10 knots, self-sustaining period is 12 days. The navigation area of the ship is inland waterways (sea-river), sea Nearctic regions according to the class.
