Renaissance Capital Appoints New CEO

Renaissance Capital, the leading emerging markets investment bank, announced today that Ruben Aganbegyan has been appointed CEO of Russia & Head of IBF for Russia and CIS and Andrew Cornthwaite has been appointed Deputy CEO of Renaissance Capital, and Global Head of Investment Banking & Financing (IBF)
Alexander Pertsovsky, CEO Renaissance Capital commented: "With Russia generating the majority of our revenues and net profit in the foreseeable future, it was crucial to appoint a CEO for Russia, to ensure we maintain and further build - out our leadership position in Russia. In this new role Ruben will be responsible for all businesses and clients in Russia. Within IBF, he will be responsible for Russia and CIS.
In his new role Andrew will bear overall responsibility for the firm's investment banking activities and will continue to lead the firm's market - leading ECM franchise. In addition, he will lead the firm's push into new investment banking markets in Africa and elsewhere. Andrew, together with Neil and me, will also form a New Markets management team to manage our expansion into these new markets, where we are already experiencing considerable success".
Ruben Aganbegyan and Andrew Cornthwaite personally contributed to unchallenged leadership of Renaissance Capital in equity capital markets, including M&A deals and organization of IPOs for Russian, CIS and African companies. In 2007 Renaissance Capital participated in 12 out of 22 ECM transactions undertaken by Russian companies.
