OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2007. Volgodonsk Nuclear Power Plant fulfilled its plan for the generation of electricity in 2007 ahead of time. Since the beginning of this year the 1st unit of the plant has produced 7.144bln KWh with the plan for the year being 7.139bln KWh.

The plant has also fulfilled the plans for the supply of electricity to consumers and capacity factor. All the indices are higher than last year.

The daily electricity production makes up 25mln KWh. Since its launch the 1st unit of Volgodonsk NPP has produced 49.150bln KWh. The electricity is supplied to consumers in Rostov, Volgograd, Krasnodar and Stavropol regions.

The management of Volgodonsk NPP congratulated the personnel of the plant on this victory and wished them health, safe and efficient work at the 1st unit and success in the construction of the 2nd one.

The radiation background at Volgodonsk NPP and in the nearby area is within norm, which proves that the plant is safe.
