OREANDA-NEWS. On December 09, 2007, late in the evening, in Refinery of AB Mazeikiu Nafta hydrogen gas ignited but was soon extinguished, reported the press-centre of AB Mazeikiu Nafta.

Hydrogen gas ignited at 11.46 p.m. in Hydrogen Unit. The flame was put out with a special foam extinguisher. Based on the preliminary investigation the flame erupted due to hydrogen gas leakage caused by depressurized flanged connection.

The incident was followed by emergency shutdown of Hydrogen Unit. However it will have no impact on the inland sales.

Investigation of the incident causes is performed by specialists of the Company.
