OREANDA-NEWS. On December 10, 2007 TransTeleCom Company CJSC (TTC) has completed the next phase of expanding the capacity of the Western European St. Petersburg–London and St. Petersburg–Amsterdam highways, reported the press-centre of TransTeleCom.

These channels link the Company’s own IP/MPLS network with the networks of international Internet providers. Capacity of the foreign channels after the update was 2x10 Gbit/s. They were constructed in ring topology, which makes it possible to back up the network, thus increasing its reliability.

Foreign IP nodes were updated at the same time. They now provide a means for stepwise upgrading of the capacity of interfaces with foreign Internet providers in major world centers of telecommunications traffic concentration in London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Stockholm.
The completed update will make it possible to increase connectivity with global Internet providers and provide a higher standard of quality on the EurasiaHighway transit route.
Capacity of the foreign segment of TTC’s network is expected to increase to 4х10 Gbit/s by July of next year.

“A key criterion for entering the global transit market is quality of services provided,” said TTC Senior Vice President Igor Kelshev. “Therefore, our company is systematically improving network infrastructure characteristics on the EurasiaHighway route. We already have everything in place to offer customers better conditions in terms of signal delay indices and accessibility factor.”
