OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2007. The sintering plant aspiration system has been operating for 1.5 months without any unplanned and emergency breakdowns from the moment of its commissioning. Thus, a completely new and unknown to the operating personnel environment protection complex, has confirmed its efficiency.

Monitoring of emissions has shown that after cleaning the air the content of dust on the electric filters at the outlet does not exceed the strict norms approved by the Ministry for Environmental Protection of Ukraine. This means that the efficiency of the work of the electric filters totals to 99%, as has been foreseen in the project. The sintering plant workers were the first to sigh with relief. Now they can breathe clean air at their work places.

But, like everything new, equipment and filter units need fitting, the technology and working principles need correction. For this reason the commissioning, starting and testing periods are needed. It’s a wonder, that it is being accomplished without any particular problems.

Now, when there is some statistics and certain remarks and questions on the operation of the aspiration system have been compiled, the electric filters have been shut down for a short period of time to determine the condition of the equipment installed in the electric filters.

According to the testing results measures have been made out and approved providing continuous work of the aspiration system for a long period of time.
