OREANDA-NEWS. December 06, 2007. 3rd of December is the International Day of disabled people, reported the press-centre of ZAZ.

More than half a thousand people with limited physical abilities are working at CJSC "ZAZ", among them more than one third are the people with affection of the organs of hearing.

In the Palace of culture for the deaf many disabled workers of the plant - both veterans and those currently working - met at the traditional "Blue lights" party, which was arranged thanks to financial and organizational support of the United Trade Union Committee of CJSC "ZAZ" and Council of veterans.

Tea party with desserts, concert prepared by amateur art groups of the Palace of culture, homelike warm atmosphere - in short, it was a real holiday of firm and sincere people who became adapted to life in spite of existing circumstances and limited abilities of their health. Tool maker R.L. Radetskiy had worked over 40 years of the conveyer of Assembly Shop. Assemblers V.F. Dashkieva and V.Ye. Nadzhos have similar length of service and today they are still working. The veteran Nikolay Moiseyevich Zdota, who was twice the champion of paraolympic games in track and field athletics, could fairly be considered to be the pride of the plant. You should agree that the fates of these and many other people are interesting and edifying for all of us.

Separately we'd like to tell about the specialists helping in social adaptation of disabled people - and this mission is not simple and very important. Yekaterina Aykina - interpreter for the deaf - has been working at our plant 25 years, Anna Antonovna Kozakova - several decades. During the party she was presented a book "Singing hands" by S.I. Antonik, Chairman of society of the deaf of Zaporozhye region. The book tells about the honorary members of the society of the deaf and their contribution into development of this public organization. The list of these people also includes the name of Anna Kozakova.

On the 4th of December the Council of veterans of the company held an advanced seminar. "In holding this meeting we were helped by United Trade Union Committee of the company, and we devoted it to the two international dates - the Day of disabled people and the Day of volunteer", - told Nina Viktorovna Firsova, Chairman of the Council of veterans. The seminar was attended by activists of the Council, disabled veterans, our most active volunteers of whom everyone provides services for more than one hundred people who need help. By tradition, on occasion of the Day of disabled people the Council of veterans allocated from its budget funds the charitable aid for 410 disabled veterans for the amount over 20 thsd. UAH.
