OREANDA-NEWS. December 6, 2007. The Azerbaijani banks had an entire income of AZN 593.88 million in I-X, 2007 (+AZN 274.86 million or +86.2% against I-X, 2006). The banks' expenses grew by 82.6% to AZN 361.55 million. The reserve allocations for assets grew by 34.1% to AZN 81.55 million. The incomes mainly included interests (72.6%), and the expenses mainly included non-interest payments (49.6%). The banks' profit before taxes totaled AZN 150.73 million (+AZN 90.49 million or +50.2% against I-X, 2006. The banking system's entire profit was AZN 129.64 million (+172.5%). Thirty-eight banks were profitable in this period. Their total net profit was AZN 134 million. The five unprofitable banks had losses totaling AZN 4.36 million. The number of profitable banks grew by 8, while the number of unprofitable ones decreased by 8. Their losses decreased 3.7 times to AZN 4.36 million.
